Care and Counseling Ministry
Our strategic vision here at Immanuel Bible Church is to present mature followers of Jesus Christ, who seek Him constantly, serve Him faithfully, and who share him boldly. Our team of trained lay counselors and volunteer caregivers serve to care for our elderly and infirm, bind up the brokenhearted, and encourage those who are encountering trials and challenges.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 sums up our ministry well… “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”
In order to meet these needs, we offer the following facets of our outreach:
Volunteers who visit the IBC seniors on a regular basis and who offer an occasional helping hand to those in need.
Senior Visitation Ministry
Practical Needs Network
The Bible declares that there is safety and victory in the abundance of counselors, “Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory.” Proverbs 11:14. Our lay counselors are especially equipped mature believers, trained in Biblical counseling, with the practical skills needed to encourage, exhort, and demonstrate love to members of the IBC family.
If you believe God is leading you to strengthen your abilities to care for and encourage others, you will want to consider this training.
We encourage you as a couple to make every attempt to ready your relationship for marriage. We pray that during these days of preparation that you will enjoy what God is doing in building your relationship to love each other and glorify Him. The pastors and staff of Immanuel Bible Church want to help make this a memorable beginning to a life of love and service to God and each other.
An ongoing community of believers who meet, share, encourage, and support each other in life's challenges. These groups meet throughout the year and are open to all IBC members, regular attenders, and members of the community. Some require pre-screening.
These short-term group workshops are designed to educate, enhance, and promote growth here at Immanuel and are open to Members, regular attenders, and members of the community. Typically, a small fee will be assessed to defray the costs of materials.
