Serving Others - April 2017

missionmuffinsSupport Mission Muffins at Immanuel
April 2

With the Central Union Mission's Ready2Cook program, employees learn baking, retail, marketing and business skills that make them ready for the job market. Every time you purchase these scrumptious muffins, not only are you getting the best baked goods money can buy, but you are helping to train and equip a homeless or employment-challenged individual to return to society. Give the Gift of “Our Words”

We are excited to offer the Central Union Mission book “Our Words” in the bookstore for $10. The book contains poems, stories, speeches, etc., that were written over the last few years by students in the Spiritual Transformation Program. This is a perfect gift to share with friends that want to be inspired and encouraged. They will see God working abundantly in the lives of the writers (homeless men) who have been transformed by the love of Jesus. All proceeds benefit Central Union Mission.

Bible Verse Writing Rally for Central Union Mission

Organize a verse writing rally with your family or any group to encourage those less fortunate. Bible verse cards are a great encouragement to the low-income neighbors who receive food from the Mission and will be placed in the bags of groceries they receive. All you have to do:

  1. Write out Bible verses of encouragement on 3x5 index cards, one verse per card.  Do not list any personal information.
  2. Send the stack of cards to Central Union Mission, P.O. Box 96763, Washington, DC 20090

Donate Hotel Travel Size Toiletries

Are you a frequent traveler? Help Central Union Mission by donating travel-size toiletries given out to their overnight guests. The Mission estimates a savings of over $1000 a year through these donations. It also makes their guests feel special to have their own private toiletries. The items may be brought to the Atrium CUM donation basket any Sunday. For more information contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
