The resurrection has been celebrated in countless ways throughout the ages and it has been the central theme of the Church in every generation. The resurrection is the present hope of Christ’s followers and the eternal song of all who have gone on before us.

This year’s concert will be a multi-generational celebration as we bring together music from the 18^th and 21^st centuries. The first half of the concert will take us back to Christ’s sufferings, resurrection and promised return through the beautiful music of Handel’s Messiah. We’re accustomed to hearing the familiar “Hallelujah Chorus” at Christmas, but that stirring piece actually appears in the Easter portion of Messiah.

The second half of the concert will bring us up to date with twenty-first century songs of praise. The Youth and Adult Choirs will join forces with the Orchestra to lead the congregation in a joyful celebration of the resurrection.
