Ryan was born in Los Angeles and raised in St. Louis. He earned his B.S. in mathematics at Illinois College, where he played football and came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He then returned to L.A. to complete a Masters of Divinity at The Master’s Seminary before coming to serve at Immanuel. He and his wife, Joyce, have four young children.

JJ Engelbrecht moved to Northern Virginia from South Africa at the age of four years old. He and his family grew up going to Sovereign Grace ministries for most of JJ’s life. The Lord saved JJ through the faithfulness witness of his parents and his youth pastor at the age of 17. JJ dedicated his life from that point forward to ministry. At first he pursued music ministry through Liberty University. But through the providence of God two things happened that changed his course. Firstly, he met his wife Alyssa and secondly, he realized he wanted to teach the Word more than he wanted to sing the Word. Fast forward to the present day and JJ and Alyssa now have 3 children and JJ has completed his mDiv at the Master’s Seminary. JJ is serving the Lord at Immanuel Bible Church and is excited to see how God will continue to grow him and his family at IBC!

Kayla was born in Fort Irwin, CA and moved every couple of years as her dad was in the military. She earned her B.S. in Rehabilitation Science at George Mason University, and while pursuing her degree, she came to a saving faith in Christ Jesus. After moving away for a year in 2022, she returned to Immanuel in June 2023. Since returning to Immanuel the Lord has opened doors for her to serve as a Team Captain for evening VBS, a Nursery Supervisor, Awana Puggles Director, and as a small group leader in Immanuel Student Ministries. She now serves as the Immanuel Student Ministries Program Director for IBC
