GOOD NEWS: Rehearsing & Responding to God’s Story
Friday, January 30, 2026
7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30pm)
IBC Worship Center
We invite you to join us for a special evening of music, storytelling, and of course, coffee at our annual Coffeehouse. The night will include the perfect blend of gourmet desserts, delicious coffee, a hot chocolate bar, and sweet fellowship!
We will be treated to an evening of music and story by Caroline Cobb. Caroline is a singer-songwriter and author who has been featured by Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, Risen Motherhood, and many more. Her music and artistry has been compared to Andrew Peterson. We are thrilled to have Caroline back with us for this special evening.
The theme for the coffeehouse will be Good News: Rehearsing & Responding to God’s Story. Caroline is passionate about telling God's Story, and will help us journey through the Story of God through song. As 2026 begins, you and your friends are invited to come slow your pace, be refreshed by the gospel of Jesus, and immerse yourself in the beautiful, life-changing Story of the Bible. Find Caroline's music and writing at http://carolinecobb.com.
The cost is only $5- so invite a friend or two! Here’s your chance to treat that neighbor, co-worker, or new friend and pour a cup of friendship into her life.
An event like this takes many hands. If you would like to help at the Coffeehouse, please email Bethany Drum at drum@ibc,church.
Sorry, no childcare will be provided during the Coffeehouse.
What will the night look like?
The evening will start in our spacious Worship Center. Women will be warmly welcomed by our emcee for the evening, Rachel Henricks, and she will cover a few things before introducing our guest artist, Caroline Cobb. Caroline will encourage us through her music for about an hour.
Following the time in the Worship Center, we will be dismissed to our beautiful Atrium where there will be an opportunity to enjoy conversations with other women as well as a delicious coffee bar and gourmet treats.
Who is Caroline Cobb?
Before her thirtieth birthday, author and singer-songwriter Caroline Cobb set a goal to write a song for every book of the Bible in one year. That year set a new calling into motion: to tell God's Story through music and writing, helping you rehearse it and respond to it as you go about your everyday. Caroline has released five “Story-telling” albums, including Psalms: The Poetry of Prayer (2023), and recently published her first book, Advent for Exiles: 25 Devotions to Awaken Gospel Hope in Every Longing Heart (2024).
Caroline has been featured by Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, The Rabbit Room, Risen Motherhood and many more, with a Home & a Hunger named among “The Best Albums of the Decade (2010’s)” by The Gospel Coalition. Caroline and her husband live in Dallas, TX with their three children Ellie, Harrison and Libby. Listen to Caroline's music here, find Advent for Exiles here, and support her work on PATREON here.
Who can attend?
Coffeehouse 2026 is open to all women, young and old. We encourage each woman attending to bring a friend. Teenage women through Grand Life are welcome to attend.
How much does it cost to attend?
Admission is only $5. With the cost so reasonable, you can invite a friend or two! This is a great opportunity to invite that neighbor, co-worker, or friend that you’ve been wanting to bring to church, but you haven’t found the right event or the courage to do so.
What kind of beverage/food will be available at the Coffeehouse?
What better way to warm up and enjoy conversation than with fabulous coffee, a hot chocolate bar, and delicious treats and desserts (some gluten free and dairy free options will be available.)
How long will the evening last?
The event will run from approximately 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
Will childcare be available?
No, unfortunately childcare will not be provided during the Coffeehouse. If this is a real hardship that would prevent you from coming, please email Bethany Drum here.
What if my guest is not a Christian?
We welcome all women to attend! This is a great opportunity to give our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family a glimpse of the hope and good news we can only find in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will be a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where we will hear about the beautiful, life-changing story of the Bible through song.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT Caroline Cobb
Nancy Guthrie, Author and Bible teacher
“Both a storyteller and a theologian, Cobb has emerged as a unique and needed voice as she attempts to make biblical theology accessible. Cobb beckons us into the biblical narrative so we may find ourselves in the pages of Scripture.”
Hunter Beless, host of Journeywomen Podcast
“If Rich Mullins was here to express it, I think he would approve of this Jesus record [A King & His Kindness]. He would probably want Cobb to join him on a tour highlighting the life of Christ. If you are looking for biblically-rooted songs expressed primarily in straightforward arrangements and organic sounds, don’t miss this one.”
